Excess of Democracy leads to Chaos

While going through a crossway, 2 bikers violated their lane and occupied my lane thereby blocking my road to go just to spare few seconds. Seeing them well groomed and looking educated, I stopped beside them, lowered my car window and did say, It’s good to be Smart but Bad to be Oversmart. They changed their lane. Such scene are very common on railway crossings where not only bikers but Car drivers poke their nose on the other half of the road leading to a road blockade and subsequent chaos. Are we so indiscipline’s by default or we just ignore to follow the rules of the road.

Most of the times our mental status with its natural instincts stimulate us to abide by the law of the land. But when we see others violating and going scot free, a subconscious compulsion creeps slowly in and we just cross the zebra crossing or jump the red light signal or make an entry on No entry road. Possibly excess dose of democracy is responsible for this.

Is it so?

Excess of democracy is equivalent more or less to chaos and Anarchy subsequently. Anarchy is bread and butter of dictator or monarchic system of governments. But if democracy is not released in a controlled manner in an ethical way, clinical system of governance may jeopardies. Good governance can thrive only on Duty Bound Determination, Discipline & Dedicated law abiding approach. Good Governance is so subtle a state it requires to let law and discipline go hand in hand with a tight hold of threat and fear factor among the citizens.

It is established since 1863 when ace first republican president of USA, Mr Abraham Lincoln defined Government in democracy as Government of the people, by the people, for the people.

Democracy is regulated by timely process of casting votes by the eligible people of the nation through which a politically correct selection of appropriate leaders is established. But when Political system starts thriving on malpractices like corruption and autocracy through hidden hands then even democracy starts smelling bad. Accordingly to an old saying Yatha Raja, Tatha Praja meaning Like King Like people, system flows mostly downwards and rarely upwards by means of quality. The people at large start taking a pattern of liberty to ignore the disciplined patterns of law. But if not taken care and not given due control, process of violation begins. The rules and regulations laid down by the system and law enforcing agencies are so violated that a democratic system fails to sustain. A government can survive without law but law can’t survive without an efficient government. Democracy gives pertinent strength to people of the nation bit if political leaders start protecting the criminals and violators of the system for want of Votes and favours then entity of discipline get a back seat by one and all, more or less.
